Peru

Unser zweiter Stopp ist Peru. 

Peru ist nach Brasilien und Argentinien das flächenmässig drittgrösste Land in Südamerika. Die drei unterschiedlichen Landschaftszonen Perus sind sehr spannend: Die Küstenwüste, das Hochland und der Regenwald. Der Anteil der indigenen Bevölkerung ist mit 45% sehr hoch, der Rest stammt grösstenteils von Europa ab. Besonders archäologisch spannend ist der Norden, allerdings ist dieser kaum touristisch erschlossen, ganz im Gegensatz zum Süden mit Cusco. Wir starten unsere Reise im Norden und bewegen uns langsam Richtung Süden, um dann nach Bolivien weiterzureisen.

Our second stop is Peru.

Peru is after Brazil and Argentina the third biggest country in South America. Peru is an extremely biodiverse country: arid plains at the coast, the Andes mountains and the rainforest. The percentage of the indigenous people is with 45% very high. The rest has usually their ancestry in Europe. The north of peru is archeologically very rich but not well connected and promoted like the south with Cusco. We start our Journey in the north and travel slowly to the south.
 

Chiclayo, Lambayeque, Tucume
In Chiclayo besuchten wir das nahe  Museum der Königsgräber vom Señor de Sipán und die Pyramiden von Tucume.

In Chiclayo we visited the nearby Museum of royal tombs of the Señor de Sipán and the pyramids of Tucume.

Chachapoyas and the Cloud Warriors
Chachapoyas liegt mitten in den Anden auf der Regenwaldseite. Von der Stadt in den Wolken bis zur Wasserfall Odyssey erlebten wir einiges.

Chachapoyas is located in the middle of the Andes on the rainforest side. We experienced many cool things among the city in the clouds and a Waterfall Odyssey. 

From Lima To Arequipa
Nach unseren Abenteuern im Norden wollten wir ein bisschen entspannen und gingen dafür nach Lima, vor allem wegen dem feinen Essen. Gestärkt und erholt ging die Reise weiter gen Süden.

After our adventures in the north we just wanted to relax a bit and chose to do that in Lima, mostly because of the good food. Relaxed and strengthened we continued our journey southwards.

From Arequipa to Cusco and Bolivia
Wir wanderten durch den Colca Canyon, kletterten auf den Berg bei Machu Picchu und knackten die 5'000 Höhenmetergrenze mit dem Rainbow Mountain.

We hiked the Colca Canyon, climbed the mountain of Machu Picchu and reached 5000m over sealever with the rainbow mountain.
